Biography:
BIOGRAPHY OF MAGGIE BERNET
Maggie was born in Klosters, a small town in the Swiss Alps. After growing up in Switzerland she lived in Finland and now resides in Delta, BC as a Canadian citizen. She lives with her husband, Allen Dion and daughter, Samantha.
Maggie’s vocational background is one of variety. She holds a lab technician’s diploma and has been trained as a doctor’s assistant. In 1984, however, she explored oil painting on canvas. She is now a multi media artist whose work is an explosion of colours.
Her specialties include abstract canvas painting, fabric painting, colour co-ordination, working with mixed media, 3-dimensional functional objects, and design. Her work has been featured in many Art Shows throughout the Lower Mainland and Washington State.
A highlight of Maggie’s career came in 1992 when her paintings, “The Door”and “Path to Life,” specifically designed for the setting, were featured in a Coquitlam Street of Dreams display home. An Interior Designer for the Carmana Plaza in down town Vancouver commissioned her most recent ambitious work. Maggie has also appeared on Delta Cable TV’s community arts presentation, “ Arts Round Town” in 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2003,2004 and 2005.
